A Look Back..
Over the past 18 months, I have had a bunch of things bouncing around in my head regarding the election and last night I got the chance to share some of them on the air. (A rare opportunity for a local television reporter). Here is a look back:
I also want to thank you personally for your contribution to this blog. We started from modest beginnings, just before the convention, and are now approaching close to 10,000 views. A small drop in the bucket for the internet world, but something we are proud of.
Decision 2009 starts today!
A Number of House Seats Called

BULLETIN: (AP) Boucher, Dem, elected House, District 9, Virginia.
BULLETIN: (AP) Warner, Dem, elected Senate, Virginia.
BULLETIN: (AP) Forbes, GOP, elected House, District 4, Virginia.

Still out there. Virgil Goode’s seat and Thelma Drake’s seat. Two Republican seats that Democrats are hoping to put into their column. Also the seat of the departing Tom Davis in the 11th District has also yet to come in.
Cantor Wins Easily
The Associated Press has called another one. Not a big surprise, Rep. Eric Cantor was re-elected to his seat in the 7th district.
AP Calls It For Warner
Per the AP:
By MATTHEW BARAKAT
Associated Press Writer
McLEAN, Va. (AP) – Democrat Mark Warner has defeated his fellow
ex-governor Jim Gilmore for a Republican-held Senate seat in
Virginia. The win gives Democrats control of both of Virginia’s
Senate seats for the first time since 1970.
Tuesday’s matchup pitted governors with sharply different styles
and records. Warner held huge leads in polls throughout the race
and Gilmore never gained traction.
Warner will succeed John Warner, who is retiring after a 30-year
Senate career. The two are not related.
The call was based on an analysis of voter interviews conducted
for The Associated Press by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky
International.
