We are once again planning extensive coverage with instant local reaction. Our livebloggers will be stationed at debate watching parties in different parts of Richmond and you are welcome to join in the conversation. In other news, both major party candidates for President are making plans to be in Virginia again in the next few days. John McCain will be in Prince William County on Saturday and  Barack Obama will be in Roanoke on Friday. It will Senator McCain’s third trip to Virginia since capturing the Republican nomination and Senator Obama’s seventh. The details for both events are after the jump.

In addition to the trips by the candidates themselves, both campaigns are holding events today with surrogates in Richmond. The Democrats have brought Dr. Susan Rice and Rear Admiral Jamie Barnett to town to discuss foreign policy. Both are expected to be appointed to high level positions in an Obama administration.

On the other side, the Republicans answered with an event designed to encourage woman to vote for the McCain/Palin ticket. Former First Lady of Virginia Susan Allen was the speaker at a rally at the campaign’s Chesterfield Headquarters.
