Obama set to visit Williamsburg

leave a comment »

I am heading to Williamsburg today to cover President Barack Obama‘s visit with House Democrats. The group is having what they are calling an “issues conference” at the Kingsmill Resort and Spa. Barack Obama is not scheduled to speak to the group until around 8pm tonight. Access to his speech is expected to be very limited. This event is designed to be a private work session, where members can air out their concerns to the President without the media glare.

I will have live reports from Williamsburg starting at 5pm and we will have a complete wrap from the visit tonight at 11. I will also have regular updates on my twitter page.

Some other tid-bits out there today…

One of the top issues expected to be discussed at Kingsmill will be the stimulus plan and a new poll, shows that the President’s proposal is losing support fast.

In the General Assembly a legislator makes a questionable statement about Muslims on the floor of the House.

And some things to look for at the Democrats’ big Jefferson-Jackson dinner on tap for Saturday night.

And the Richmond City Council, picks a replacement for Delores McQuinn.
