McDonnell reacts to landmark abortion vote
Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell is pleased that the Virginia General Assembly passed legislation that will increase the level of regulation over first semester abortion providers in the Commonwealth.
The Governor supported the effort during during his time as a member of the House of Delegates. He said that as long as the bill has no legal or policy issues, he will sign it into law.
McDonnell, who has a pretty consistent pro-life voting record, but often attempts to not wade too deeply into volatile issues like abortion. In a short interview this afternoon, he sold the legislation as one not designed to limit abortions, but to increase safety at clinics.
